I’m exploring new opportunities. Here are my responses to some age old interview questions. These response may help provide more color on how I think and key highlights from my career.
What are your strengths?
1. Adaptive Deep Thinker
I am a deep thinker and dive deep into whatever challenge or problem I am faced with. As I think through and analyze the task at hand, I both consciously and subconsciously work through different angles, solutions and outcomes. I obsessively continue to think about how I will solve this problem and the potential optimal solutions throughout my day and night as I fall asleep. As I dig deeper into attacking the problem, I am not afraid to alter my approach as I gain new insight.
2. Entrepreneurial Drive
I have an innate entrepreneurial drive that powers a can do attitude when tackling any and all challenges ahead. This means that I often take ownership and provide results that make forward progress regardless of predefined roles. I believe where there is a will, there is a way and I am not afraid to roll up my sleeves and dig into the nitty gritty of any task that falls in the way of ultimately getting the job done.
I have a strong ability to serve as a persuasive, articulate and vocal voice for the what I believe in. This includes but is not limited to the technologies I support, the products I build and use, as well as the teams that I contribute to. My strong conviction and valid talking points help illuminate others to see the light.
What Is Your Management Style / Approach
I believe first in hiring great people with raw talent that posses both a drive to do great work and an interest in having fun in the process.
I believe it is important to inspire a team through the establishment of a clear vision of what we will collectively accomplish. This includes also the establishment of which direction or directions different troops will march and the proper assignment of responsibility.
I also believe it is important for managers and leader to lead by example with regards to setting the pace for which the team operates at, the expectations around quality of work and the importance of developing strong working relationships with others to help get the job done.
For each team member I believe it is import to:
- Delegate projects and/or areas of ownership.
- Set measurable goals that include milestones for each project or area.
- Adjust and change course as necessary.
- Care about that person and the betterment of their career.
- Provide encouragement thru increased projects ownership and responsibility.
- Provide regular feedback
- Strive to align folks with work they both enjoy and are most passionate about.
- Understand the long term career interest of the individual
What Are You Most Passionate About?
I don’t like to be passionate about just one thing, but if I must, I will say the following.
Building. I see myself first and foremost as a Builder. Forward progress!
